One Day in UP
Went to Summer Komikon yesterday. "Summer" because they followed komiket's bi-annual frequency in holding events.

Stayed for around 4 hours in the event. None of the comics sold by established and indie artists caught my eye but the place wasn't boring. Dunno why, maybe it's just because I haven't been to UP since my departure from the former company.

Wanted to pass by the tambayan before going to the event but decided not to when I noticed from afar someone was sleeping/lying down there. Later that day, Juts told me it was just him. Oh well...

Speaking of people I met in the Komikon, as expected, I didn't meet a lot of acquaintances there. Mic and Krinkle were there for daMEAT. Zienta and Charles were also with their artist group but they didn't have a booth so they were just spectators. Mike was there too and he knew more of the spectators than me. Other random spectators were Juts, Tiff, and a few other AME peeps whose names I forgot.

Also met a former co-worker, Niw, and her boyfriend in the event. They're with CreatiVoices and hosting the gig was a way to practice their hosting skills.

Before leaving for a nostalgic but gamo-gamo swarm infested mass at the Parish of the Holy Sacrifice, Mike convinced me to avail of the P100 for 2 packs of Stickfas so that he'd only pay P50 for a pack. I didn't mind because I also need something to tinker with when I get bored.

ooh... it's stable enough to do high kicks!

Went to The Block after mass for dinner. I already had Rodics for lunch and I didn't feel like having Lutong Bahay for dinner.

Oooh... free wifi!

Impulse-bought ×××HOLiC 13 at Fully Booked. I didn't really enjoy the Kohane Arc as much as the Himawari and Dream Arcs (though I'd admit that it's got a better "ending") but I'd rather get one now before the stock becomes erratic again.

Tried out Napoli pizza at the 5th floor. It's not bad (it's actually better than most pizzas), but it's still inferior compared to Italian pizza.

Komikon wasn't the main reason why I went to UP for the first time since my departure.

I wanted to see the acacias in bloom, framing Roces St. in a sea of orange.

Unfortunately, I was either too late to see the fire trees in full bloom or the trees decided to bloom at different times this year. Either way, the street between FC/AS and Eng'g was only half as orange as I remember it.

The long road made by Roces St. (AS to Philpost) and Velasquez St. (AS to NIGS) brings back a lot of good memories.

...a chance encounter in the morning with the acacias in bloom...

...being called and walking towards PhilPost...

...an awkward farewell at the corner of Eng'g...

...walking in the rain towards NIGS...

...free rides and a building tour...

As much as I try to tell myself that I should move on from them, I know that I can't simply let go of those cherished memories.

Instead, I'll just move on with my life.

And so it begins. Time to start turning everything in my life upside down. There's no turning back now.
